Of course Third Eye Blind recorded an Occupy Wall Street “anthem.”

    Of course

if there ever was a time, it would be now
to make the masters hear this
if there ever was a time to get downtown
and get non violent and fearless
things only get brighter when you light a spark
everywhere you go right now is Zuccotti park

and news corps says you don’t have a plan
well sit down man, i’ll tell you again
the plan’s to stand together up to greed
and a tear gas can in a veteran’s face
    won’t change the case

Thank you, Stephen Jenkins. Thank you.

It may be tacky to reblog something you posted earlier in the day, but EVERYONE needs to hear the new Third Eye Blind song about Occupy Wall Street, especially the timely Zucotti Park references.

Also, I think I can pitch their music video. I thought about it for about five minutes, which is twice as long as they thought about exploiting Occupy Wall Street to fulfill their misplaced self righteousness.

Ok… so, half of the video needs to be actual footage from Occupy Wall Street.  We need to juxtapose (art word) police violence vs. the peaceful protestors.

Then third eye blind has a stage set up in what looks Zucotti park, but probably just a sound stage.  They’re playing to teens.

There’s b-storyline about 2 kids in flannel falling in love.

Then the banks crumble as the kids hold hands and third eye blind back away from the mic in slow motion.
