This statue used to sit at the end of an island in the river here in town. It was there for years until it finally collapsed into the river. Growing up there were always rumors among kids about what it was there for and how it was used since it was closed to the public. I guess the truth is a bunch of rich white people would gather inside once or twice a year and hold a fundraiser.
What the fuck is wrong with this town.

Year In Review of the Day: Madeline Schichtel spent 2011 collecting little bits of each day on camera. She then whittled each clip down to just over a second, and pieced them all together into a lovely video collage.
“It’s interesting to be able to look back on my year and remember these little moments,” she says. “I love living in LA. I love the friends I’ve made. And I love seeing how much has changed over just one year being here.”
